SUPREMACY CD |

Henrik Nordvargr Bjorkk is
a familiar name in underground experimental noise circles, and black
metal circles alike. From his work with the pioneering black industrial
band MZ.412 to his many solo ventures under his own name, to collaborations
with Merzbow, to other projects like Folkstorm and Toroidh, Bjorkk
has been prolific to say the least. The common element in all his
work has been overwhelming darkness and dread. Under the Vargr moniker,
Bjorkk returns to his roots in a way. The foundation of Northern Black
Supremacy is black metal of the coldest variety (think Ildjarn or
Beherit), but it's buried in a no-fi terror soundtrack complete with
eerie samples and anguished screams recalling his work in MZ.412.
One of the harshest statements in Bjorkk's vast cannon of releases,
Northern Black Supremacy captures perfectly the coldest essence of
Scandinavian black metal through a filter of unthinkable horror and
militancy. In his words: No Trend. No Feeling. No Production. No Mercy.

The other hard to find Vargr album
released by the Russian Eternal Pride label. A little less on the black
metal and more on the terrorscapes, this is a shining example of why Nordvargr
makes horrifying sounds that most of the underground can only aspire to.

20 BUCK SPIN IS DISTRIBUTING THIS
TITLE EXCLUSIVELY IN NORTH AMERICA. All new album from Sweden's Henrik "Nordvargr"
Bjorkk released from the distant Russian label Eternal Pride Productions.
On this one Nordvargr is in top form using his main identity to create hellish
dark ambient noise and Swedish industrial horrorscapes. Assisted here by
Wrest from Leviathan and long-time collaborator Drakhon this follows in
the vein of the previous Nordvargr/Drakh collaborations in sonic style with
elements of the original MZ.412 project. Deep drones and terrifying voices
whispered in the night. Helvete's audial nightmare was scraped off the walls
of the burial vault and committed to tape. |
