20 BUCK SPIN IS DISTRIBUTING THIS TITLE EXCLUSIVELY IN NORTH AMERICA. All new album from Sweden's Henrik "Nordvargr" Bjorkk released from the distant Russian label Eternal Pride Productions. On this one Nordvargr is in top form using his main identity to create hellish dark ambient noise and Swedish industrial horrorscapes. Assisted here by Wrest from Leviathan and long-time collaborator Drakhon this follows in the vein of the previous Nordvargr/Drakh collaborations in sonic style with elements of the original MZ.412 project. Deep drones and terrifying voices whispered in the night. Helvete's audial nightmare was scraped off the walls of the burial vault and committed to tape.

No Sanctuary: The Spiderleg Recordings gathers the sought-after cult releases No Sanctuary, Who's The Enemy, and Winter. Some of these tunes--such as "Winter" and "No Gods, No Masters"--are undisputed classics in the punk world. Carefully remastered by Jello Biafra and George Horn, these long-worshipped and revered recordings are finally available again from Alternative Tentacles on both CD (in digipak with booklet) and LP with bonus 7-inch. Tons of original artwork was resurrected into a beautifully designed package by long-time Alternative Tentacles collaborator and UK native John Yates.

ARES KINGDOM - RETURN TO DUST LP

This is the first full-length album from Ares Kingdom, an American band featuring members of Order From Chaos and Vulpecula. They play thrashy death/black metal. The sound on this album is ideal. There’s a touch of distortion on the guitars, which adds a perfect amount of roughness to the sound. The drums have lots of impact, the bass is just loud enough, and the vocals are way up front, a choice that makes them surprisingly easy to understand. In terms of style, this band sounds a bit like Order From Chaos, but the songwriting here is even more epic and involved. Just look at the resume people, you know this rules. ASUNDER / LIKE FLIES ON FLESH SPLIT CD

The first recorded material from Asunder. Killer old Peaceville style Doom a la My Dying Bride or Anathema, but with the distinctive stench that only Oakland, California can unearth. Like Flies On Flesh come with some At The Gates meets old Maiden style without all the new-school metal cliches.

NFOF also marks a break in lyrical themes shifting focus to the personal, rather than its previous view that was through a more Black Metal lens. For those unfamilar, this is crude minimal Black Metal. A black metal song stripped to its essence, played with aggression and angst. COBALT - EATER OF BIRDS CD

What in the... WHAT HUH? This album came out of nowhere and has COMPLETELY SMASHED OUR FACES IN. Cobalt is from Colorado and play some diseased blackened war metal crossed with almost AmRep style noise rock. Even Jarboe rears her chords on a few tracks. Sound like a mess? They pull it off so goddamn brilliantly, it'll blow you away. We have been listening to this non-stop since it dropped in our laps. The only 70 plus minute record we've been able to tolerate in a long long time. Every track is chalked full of amazing riffs, huge build-ups and killer epic ambience. No idea how this band went completely off our radar for so long. They have another record on Displeased that will have in stock shortly. This is probably the best metal record of 2007 so far. Completely amazing and essential - way to go Profound Lore - you've become an honorary American with this release.

COFFINS - MORTUARY IN DARKNESS CD

After being out a print for a year and a half or so, the first Coffins album "Mortuary In Darkness" is finally repressed by Razorback. Thank GOD - this album is crushing as only Coffins knows how. Some of these tracks have appeared in different versions on the Living Dead Society CD and elsewhere, but this is the ultimate recording of each. You know what it is, a monolith of skull smashing Autopy meets Frost meets Winter doomed death brilliance. Coffins is the be all end all of the sound and this is where it began. GET THIS NOW SCUM.

New Coffins alert! 4 tracks from Coffins on this one, 3 brand new, never before released Coffins tracks and an old Asphyx cover!! Anatomia is a new band formed with ex-members of the cult japanese death/doom band Transgressor! They play an obscure death/doom with extremely deep guttural vocals and slow crushing riff on the way of old school influences like Incantation and Autopsy! Grudge are one of the most killer death/grindcore bands from the Tokyo underground!No bullshits, no frills, total furious and ultra raw grind doomed violence.

The long rumored split between two of the underground's best. Coffins need no introduction here. 2 tracks (alternate recordings) from The Other Side album and a killer cover of Goatlord's Acid Orgy, possibly done better than the original! The Otesanek side is one long slow death crawl of bubbling blackened psychotic doom. The track is frightening, sounds like a band on the brink of hurting each other and themselves. The tension is tangible. Comes in a beautiful gatefold with amazing art done by a friend of Otesanek's who sadly took his own life just days after completing the painting. Death permeates this one.

Corrupted's most epic work and our personal favorite. El Mundo Frio builds and morphs slowly over time from peaceful to crushing to peaceful and back again. Their masterwork for sure. This thing comes packaged in a heavyweight digibook with tons of killer artwork and different paper textures included. Imported directly from the band. DESTRUCTO SWARMBOTS - CLEAR LIGHT CD

Destructo Swarmbots has carved a unique niche for themselves over the past 4 years. Their live shows consist of chaotic walls of white noise, improvised textures and battered instruments. Their recordings are delicate, at times meditative, washes of ambience constructed from countless piles of tortured sounds. Superior musicianship, crystalline production, raw bite, and radical ideology. Comes with an attractive twelve-page booklet with lyrics taken from the poetry of Ukraine's great poet, ardent patriot, and thinker, Taras Shevchenko.

DRUDKH - SONGS OF GRIEF AND SOLITUDE CD

DRUDKH's fifth album ventures into acoustic territory, offering ancient, sorrowful, Ukrainian folk songs. Their radical, conservative revolutionary ideas here establish a dynamic counterpoint with the serene, earthy, primitivist atmosphere of the music. FEAR FALLS BURNING & BIRCHVILLE CAT MOTEL CD

A collaboration between the two experimental artists that meant to happen. Belgium's Fear Falls Burning teams up with New Zealand's Birchville Cat Motel for 1 single long track displaying their fascination for the metallic and slow expanding drone. Made with guitars, amps, processing and subtle percussion, this album brought out the best in each other and is a lively, pulsating, moody and intense drone manifest.

FEAR FALLS BURNING & NADJA CD

Collab disc between two of our favorites artists. First off, this is not a split CD; it is a collaborative effort between sonic adventurers Fear Falls Burning and Aidan Baker's Nadja project. Just over an hour in length, it features four long, untitled tracks, where large-scale drones, feedback, noise, and tape manipulation interact in a flurry of deep washes where dynamics change and elements of harmony and melody bubble up, but are easily turned under the cluttered black wall of sound at the gate of the void.

GRAVES AT SEA / ASUNDER SPLIT CD

The cult Split LP between two West Coast doom powerhouses. Side A has two songs by Graves At Sea containing there strongest and catchiest songs yet, while remaining sick as fuck. Pariah is one of the best doom/sludge songs of all time that'll stay stuck in your head for days at a time. Reclamation continues the devastation in the unique Graves At Sea style. Each track is over 10 minutes long. Asunder return after their stunning A Clarion Call record on Life Is Abuse. Their track takes up the entire B-side here, continuing in their earliest era Anathema meets the Oakland gutter style. Dino's (of Dystopia) drumming is impeccable as always and the killer riffs and mournful howls from guitarists Geoff (Skaven) and John (Weakling) churn the bowls and empty the tear ducts all at once. If you're happy, leave now.

GREY DATURAS - DEAD IN THE WOODS CD

The reissue of GREY DATURAS's crushing 2004 album Dead In The Woods. Long out of print and originally released through the Crashing Jets imprint, Dead In The Woods is a massive exhortation of lumbering metallic sludge rock, freely improvised noise, and sky-streaking psychedelia, roving the murky void between The Dead C, Hawkwind, crushing sludge metal, and Skullflower's heaviest jams. This re-issue features a full remastering by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound, and comes in a 4-panel case printed by Stumptown Printers.

GREY DATURAS / MONARCH - DAWN OF THE CATALYST LP

LP version of this brainmelter! Two respected underground heavyweights pair up on ‘Dawn Of The Catalyst’. Australia’s Grey Daturas have built a solid following over the last few years through constant touring worldwide with artists like Neurosis, Wolf Eyes and Yellow Swans (having also released splits with the latter two). Their combination of Sonic Youth style guitar-improv freakouts with more detuned doomed ambience and all out noise has attracted fans from all dank corners of underground music. France’s female-fronted Monarch is that country’s entry into the slo-mo nihilistic utterly oppressive doom genre where they’ve distinguished themselves from their peers in both sound and aesthetics. On ‘Dawn Of The Catalyst’ each band contributes one extended track, both veering to the more experimental, droning, lurching side of their collective personas. A split to be felt more than simply heard, it requires full volume and full bass frequencies for maximum effect.

HALF MAKESHIFT - OMEN CD

From such scenarios as a blissful jaunt amongst a great ocean or a vast open field, to such disturbing yet picturesque scenarios where crumbling destructive frequencies envision skyscrapers falling and crumbling into the sea or an enormous tide crashing down onto civilization.

INSECT WARFARE follow up their now legendary debut "At War with Grindcore" Ep with an even more brutal onslaught of Gulf Coast grindcore. This has to be heard to be believed - laying to waste all the phoney math-metal grind you hear these days, INSECT WARFARE return to the roots of grind, citing explicitly early EARACHE as their alter of worship. This includes the "Violent" EP, debut EP, the split EP w/HATRED SURGE, comps and demos. This is the return of true grind.

INSECT WARFARE - WORLD EXTERMINATION CD

Surpassing the brutality displayed on their earlier EPs, INSECT WARFARE deliver some of the fiercist grindcore since NAPALM DEATH`s From Enslavement on this LP. Seriously, this needs to be heard to be believed. No tech, no minamalist noise, this is pure, straight forward, raw grindcore that no other band seems able to deliver these days. While the larger death metal labels are salivating over this band, IxWx stay true to their DIY roots and prove that 1000mph raw grindcore belongs in the underground. Be prepared for slaughter.
