Time for an update on orders / inventory etc.
Many of you are rightly asking about your orders, what’s taking so long etc. There are a number of reasons that to explain in detail would take a long time and honestly, do you really care? Things like delayed pressings, things like when a new album arrives like say Witch Vomit, we have to go back to when those orders were first pre-ordered 5 weeks earlier, and so any orders not for that item that were placed later than that, are all of the sudden waiting longer since there’s a bunch of newly fillable orders that are older. Does that make sense? No? Didn’t think so.
Many factors. BUT, here’s the thing. You WILL get your order. We are not in the habit of NOT sending people their orders - ever. We haven’t stuck around for 15 years by ripping people off. We are just extremely backed up due to a perfect storm of factors between late arriving product, an insane influx of orders / new customers that we frankly weren’t totally prepared for, a large amount of new releases in a short amount of time, health problems, and the fact that there are just two people that comprise 20 Buck Spin.
Yes yes we know we know, hire more people. All that is on the table yet we have to actually have time to do it. Can’t just grab some schmohawk off the street and have them packing in 5 minutes. And we can’t when your long waiting orders are pending. THAT is the priority, to get those out, not spend time interviewing and training new people in the midst of everything.
Many of you have been very patient and understanding. Many of you have not. Regardless EVERYBODY is going to get their order it’s just taking far longer than we would like. Anyone who doesn’t want to wait and just wants a refund can have one. That’s totally fine. I don’t know why you’d do that after already waiting a while, but whatever the case, we can do that if you want, just let us know.
For the rest of you, we are going to get everything out. WE ARE NOT HAPPY IT’S TAKING SO LONG AND ARE NOT LAYING AROUND DOING NOTHING HERE. Quite the opposite. Circumstances have conspired to make it the way and we are not making excuses but wanted to provide a longer explanation then is possible in emailing individually every single person who continues to inquire about their order. Which takes up a HUGE amount of time that we could be packing to respond to each of you.
Witch Vomit - we’ve shipped the bulk of the early pre-orders (meaning those that came in during the first two weeks or so after the preorder began) - the rest we’re continuing to get out. Remember we didn’t receive the vinyl or tapes until several days after the official release date due to pressing plant delays. We mentioned this many times online but most of you continue to be unaware that we’ve only had them for a week.
Orders from August that aren’t Witch Vomit orders: When Witch Vomit LPs, CDs, Tapes, arrived those immediately became our oldest orders going back to July 19th. So those had to be done before any August orders we had not yet gotten to. The same thing happened because of some Tomb Mold merch that didn’t arrive until the end of August. Those pending orders went as far back as June, and all had to be caught up on, in fairness, before August orders.
Everything we are currently working on is from August and should take another week to 10 days. Then September orders, then we’ll be caught up.
Tomb Mold - represses of both LPs are soon to arrive including new color variants for both. Planetary Clairvoyance shirts will be restocked in a month or two in all sizes.
Cerebral Rot - more color vinyl will be made available in the not too distant future.
Fetid - There is a new repress now available on both color / black vinyl.
Nightfell - CDs for Nightfell have arrived as of today Friday Sept 13th. The LPs will not arrive until around the end of the month at which time we’ll hopefully get them shipped quickly.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understand your frustration in waiting much longer than usual for your orders. It’s not how we want it to be and it will be sorted as quickly as possible. As mentioned if you still want to cancel your order just let us know.
